Recently elected President of Poland officially calls final reports on the 2010 Smolensk presidential plane crash "unfounded theories?.

In an official letter to participants of the fourth "Smolensk conference", organised by the proponents of conspiracy theories on the April 10th 2010 aviation accident that killed President Lech Kaczynski and 95 other people, President of Poland Andrzej Duda praised the members of the "independent investigation effort" and called Russian and Polish final reports "hypotheses, which can not withstand confrontation with the scientific analysis of available photographic and video documentation". He concluded that causes and circumstances of the Smolensk crash haven't been established yet.

Members of Law and Justice, former opposition and now the ruling party in Poland, dismiss the results of the official investigation published in 2011 and announce reopening the inquiry with re-staffed State Commission of Aircraft Accident Investigation.

Conspiracy theories will most likely become officially supported "truth". Ideological cleansing may jeopardise SCAAI's ability to perform its duties. In March 2015 the Polish "Parliamentary Committee for Investigation of the Tu-154M Crash" (a single-party body chaired by Law and Justice vice-president Antoni Macierewicz) presented a paper on the causes of the 2010 crash of the Polish presidential aircraft in Smolensk, which very well defines the nature of possible "investigation" - see my comment and commented original .
