With the “News from Poland” service, Gazeta Wyborcza and Gazeta Wyborcza foundation are joining forces to help those with limited access to media coverage about Poland due to the language barrier. Our goal is to guarantee open access to high quality journalism for expats and English speakers interested in Polish affairs.
Our weekly English newsletter “News from Poland: Democracy at Stake” provides an overview of the most important news from Poland that we have reported on over the last week. It is written by Gazeta Wyborcza's editors, journalists and collaborating experts. Our coverage focuses on Polish political issues, especially concerning the ruling camp’s assault on democratic values and the rule of law; on stories that show the Polish society being at crossroads between religious conservatism and progressive human rights; and on the ongoing COVID-19 epidemic. As part of the latter, we also provide useful guides and handbooks for our readers on how to stay safe. You can read about our initiatives, browse our archival newsletters and support our cause.
