The PiS government closed the Internet pages on which the report was published of the Commission, led by Jerzy Miller, on causes of the Smoleńsk catastrophe, with all of the materials collected by the team headed by dr Maciej Lasek, the chairman of the State Commission for Examining Flight Accidents. This is a triple attempt.

It is an attempt to deny the principle of continuity of the State and to abolish the achievements of Miller's Commission, composed of outstanding Polish specialists. It is an attempt to deprive citizens of the right of access to public information - to materials financed from public sources. Finally, it is an attempt to deprive citizens of the freedom of speech and is a mockery of common sense.

The intent is as base, as it is obvious - to legitimize the "attempt conclusions" of Antoni Macierewicz's commission, composed of pseudo-specialists, working on pseudo-facts. The logic is: "Let's censure everything and shut the mouth of everyone, and then our truth only will remain valid".

Gazeta Wyborcza does not agree to that. The free press is obliged to make public everything that those in power want to hide from people. Beginning with to-day, the materials, hidden by the PiS state, will be available on the page wyborcza.pl/faktysmolenskie

This attempt shall not meet with success.
