A poll asking about the US presidential candidates has been conducted in eight countries of the world. Poles prefer the Democrat, but compared with the other countries, show exceptionally strong support for the Republican. They also do not condemn George W. Bush's America and, as the only ones, would support a military intervention in Iran.

It was a somewhat crazy idea: to see who would win the US elections if they were held in the whole world. La Presse, Canada's largest French-language daily newspaper, invited the leading titles from many countries to participate. Seven responded positively: The Guardian (UK), Le Monde (France), Le Soir (Belgium), Le Temps (Switzerland), Reforma (Mexico), The Daily Yomiuri (Japan), and Gazeta Wyborcza in Poland....
