Lech Kaczyński feels he has no way but to be a conflict monger, because the cabinet is ineffectual and it is the president's role to veto poor legislation. The conflict with the cabinet harms Mr Kaczyński's image, because the press is biased and his spin doctors not as good as they used to be.

President Lech Kaczyński described his difficult situation in interview for the radio show Sygnały dnia yesterday. He believes he can fulfil his political mission only by clashing with the cabinet of Donald Tusk. Because even if he agrees that a certain law needs to be amended, he won't sign the amendment if he doesn't like the new bill in whole. 'I have a mandate for building a solidary Poland, and I'll keep saying no to those building a liberal one', he stressed....
